The foundation for the memorial wall has been poured.  During the week of May 20, a brief respite from periodic rains allowed the contractor, Brashear Construction, to get the foundation excavated and poured in concrete.

Now awaiting the foundation to cure and another weather break to permit the forming of the wall that will also be poured concrete.

Conversations are ongoing with fabricators of the limestone panels with a view toward getting those designed and ordered to assure delivery at the proper time.

Memorial bricks continue to be sold with well over 100 now sold.

Regrettably one of our more notable local Korean War veterans, Guy Strong, passed away this past week.  He was kept informed of the progress of the memorial and it was hoped that completion would come in time for him to be a part of the dedication.

The flagpole base sleeve is in the hands of the contractor; it will be placed with the concrete of the flagpole base.

All information relating to the granite plaques has been forwarded to the vendor, who will provide proofs, after which those items can be ordered.

Fundraising continues and we hope to secure some sizeable donations from local businesses and manufacturers as we race to complete the project by late fall of this year.  Bronze plaques will be a part of the memorial to acknowledge donors who contribute over $1,000.00.  Eight donors have thus far reached or exceeded that level.
