    Following an early summer hiatus at the memorial, work is scheduled to resume on July 21, 2025, with the removal of the dirt mound at the site, grading behind the memorial wall, placement of the granite plaques on the end pedestals, completion of the flagpole base cap, and planting of the trees.

    Dee Birkes and Chuck Witt appeared before the Winchester Rotary Club on February 12th and were graciously received with recommendations for helping with the project. In early March, we received word that our second attempt for a T-Mobile grant had not been approved, so fundraising in other directions continues.
